From The desk of Admin

We have been publishing the birth anniversary for past one week but nobody has turned up to wish 'happy birth day' to any of the members so far. This is really lack of warmth. We have lost the human touch. Saying a few good words by wishing somebody takes nothing but recipient will be overjoyed and his moral will get boosted. He may always feel that there is someone who cares for him. This is nothing but community living. We are lacking the community brotherhood. Get up and get writing soon.

You can send bio data, death & birth news, grihpravesh, SSC results, HSC results. We will be pleased to publish them.

Election of Mota Mandal

To morrow is the Election day of Mota Mandal or Movadi Mandal

Everyone should attend the meeting to choose one's candidate. By not going to the meeting you deprive the right candidate from giving his best to the Samaj. There is lot required to be done and anybody with service to community in mind should come forward and exercise his vote.

Be in time for the election. Behave in a disciplined manner and as a civilian.

Best of Luck to every candidate who has shown his inclination to serve the Samaj by offering his candidature.

May the best team be elected in larger good of the Samaj.

How Notebooks & Stationery are distributed ?

Dear Members,

In our last blog we had asked your reaction about distribution of Note books & Stationery.

Our observations :

1) There are 26 item in all to be carried per child by the parents of the children. So with 2 children in the house, you will carry 52 items from Dadar to Masjid to the place of residence.
2 ) They also have to carry 12 items per family from Dadar to Masjid to the place of residence.
3) The members of the community will be traveling from Borivali & Ghatkopar to Dadar & then to Masjid between 4 & 8 pm on a working day in rush hours.

Following is the list of items for each child :

Motu mandal Yuvak Mandal Total
ball pen
1 1 2
label/rubber
1
1
lunch box

1 1
notebook
5 10 15
paper file

1 1
pencil box
1 1 2
steel foot rule
1 1 2
water bag

1 1
water bottle
1
1
Grand Total
10 16 26

Per Family The following items will be given :

Motu mandal Yuvak Mandal
Total
colorbox

1 1
compass
1 1 2
folder file
1
1
plastic cover

1 1
pouch

1 1
school bag
1
1
sketch pen
1 1 2
velcro docu bag

1 1
writing pad
1 1 2
Grand Total
5 7 12

If you see the table above then each child gets 2 steel foot rule & 2 pencil boxes. Is this not waste ? Who writes with pencil nowadays ? Like wise each child gets 1 water bag & 1 water bottle. is not it duplication ? Velcro Document Bag is given to the family or Children of the family ? How will children keep their documents in one folder when they need to have separate files/ folders and/or document bags. Same is true for pouch per family. Who will use it ?

Now what we want to question is as follows :

1) why the distribution not kept on Sunday ? What will happen to the members on a working day when they travel back home with loads of items in their hand ?

2) why both the mandals can not work in tandem to have single window delivery of the items at both the offices of Mandal ?

3) When committee members have decided to make us run to both the offices, why the timings are not kept separate so as to make members reach both the offices without much hassles.

It seems committee members are not servants of society but are bosses of the society. What they think is not in the larger interest of the Mandals because they are not in any mood to think out of the box.

We also feel that Donors should come forward not only to donate the funds for these activities but also put conditions as to how & what will be distributed from their donations. By merely giving away the funds does not help. What you, donors, have to demand is how your donations will reach the community in most smooth way.

What is a blog ?

Dear Members,

What is the Gujarati equivalent of BLOGSPOT ?

In Gujarati, we can call it CHORO. CHORO is a place where people gather and discuss their common problems with each other. There are people in problem and there are people who would give advise to come out of problem. Similarly, we can also develop this blog and come forward to discuss what ever we can share with the members of community.

But this can only be possible if the members take part with interest and regularity. Initially there were problem about the language of this blog as most of us are comfortable to read write in Gujarati and to develop the blog in Gujarati is a real challenge but one youngster one day came to say that few years down the line, there will be very few who would like to read Gujarati blog and today fathers can always ask the sons & daughters to make them understand what is said in the blog. Again, our older generation is many times proud of their education & their knowledge of english. So, why not to take a chance ? And we started this blog. The blog's success depends on the use and participation of the members of community so again we have to request you to come forward with information about the members of the samaj. Do not forget to send the message to mvjsamaj@gmail.com

Have you received the copy of accounts of the samaj ? what is your say about it ?

Have you got the circular of NOTE (Excercise books) distribution ? What is strange about it ?

Do write to mjvsamaj@gmail.com
